Body of drowned boy recovered following search and recovery op - Nsuze

Earlier today, IPSS Medical Rescues’ Search and Rescue division, participated in a search and recovery mission, undertaken by various SAPS units.

A boy was reportedly fishing in a remote area, when he lost his footing and fell into the river, and never resurfaced. On arrival of IPSS SAR, SAPS dive unit (Richards Bay and Durban), SAPS K9 SAR (Durban and Umhlali), SAPS Airwing, it was established that the remote location was accessible primarily by air.

Divers, K9s and SAR handlers were flown to the remote location where a search was initiated. After some time, K9’s indicated the location of the body and it was recovered by police divers.

Rescue personnel, K9s and the deceased were flown to an accessible area and the matter was handed over to local police members.

Good effort by all involved.

Hands down IPSS Medical Rescue has always been there to help all citizens of this town and has always provided me the peace of mind that should any medical emergency arise, they will be there to offer immediate assistance

Yes great... Name these people that think they can bully their way through everything! Going so far to try to get someone to lose their job is shameless and downright evil

I would like to take this opertunity to say thankyou to a Team devoted to the community that go beyond the call of duty as I have personally experienced. I would would like to say thankyou and keep up the impeccable service you provide during a time wrecked by Covid when many fail. I will continue to recommend and support a wonderful team God Bless you all and stay safe.

I have personally seen how the IPSS team cares for the community, whether it is on the roads, at our homes or even at sporting events and don't agree with this at all! The IPSS team is always willing to go the extra mile. Keep it up- We support you 100%!

IPSS Medical Rescue, Stay strong team 💙. We at Tac-Med Emergency Medical Service, are thankful for all you at IPSS Medical Rescue do for your community as frontline essential services, especially during the current pandemic that faces us. Therfore we at Tac-Med Emergency Medical Service, wish well and success to all at the IPSS Medical Rescue team and Paul Herbst. #ipss #tacmedems #staypositive

The IPSS medical team is absolutely phenomenal. Every encounter with the team - be it from the person answering the phone to the actual medics - has been outstanding. We have had many personal dealings with the employee concerned and he is so professional, empathetic and he really goes above the call of duty. He is a true asset to the IPSS team. Recently, he was the medic who came to certify a relative deceased, and he handled the situation with the utmost respect, dignity and compassion. Thank you for all you have done for my family, IPSS. We stand with you!

Paul and the IPSS team have always given my patients and our community brilliant service. They go above and beyond the call of duty. Keep up the exemplary work ethic !

Only ever had incredible care and service from IPSS. Paul, you and your team are incredible. Thank you for all you do

When you hear the name Paul Herbst, immediately you feel safe, the stories from our community and surrounds, about IPSS and their team speak volumes about their passion and dedication!!!!!!! You and your incredible team flipping ROCK!!!!!

IPSS is an absolute asset to the Ballito community! What a petty complaint!! Complainant seems like a prima donna!

IPSS are fantastic, we are blessed to have Paul and his fantastic team as part of our community! Keep up the good work! You have my vote 🗳

I can only give a huge thank you to IPSS! My mother broke her tibia and ankle and they arrived before I had time to think about the situation! They assured me and treated my mom with such compassion and dignity! Siysnda and the guys on duty were amazing! . They kept us all calm and assured the patient at all times. IPSS were amazing to say the least! I even offered to buy them lunch which they declined. WOW!

Sadly, North Coast Courier is known for their articles that lack even the most basic evidence.

Sensational journalism. There is always many sides to a story, but why has this even been given air in the local paper, totally unnecessary shame on the courier and mr Garvey 😳😡

These front line paramedics honestly put their own lives and their own safety on the line for the community. It is an extremely stressful job and equally stressful for their families too. The nature and severity of exposure to trauma and experiencing actual or threatened death, serious injury or violence causes tremendous stress to these paramedics. You would think that people in the community would appreciate this and not add unnecessary stress to their lives. But then again you will always have entitled spoilt little babies spitting their dummies out!!!!

Sue for defamation. Processes in place should be adhered to , the media loves sensationalism.

Well this article backfired on the newspaper printing the article and the so called complainant a Mr.A.G...... I have only seen messages of praise for IPSS stemming from this....So a massive silver lining in miniscule cloud

Actually Mr G can count himself very fortunate... during that time with shortage of hospital beds, some patients were transferred to Richards bay and even HARRISMITH!! to receive medical care. Private patients were grateful to get a bed in Stanger government hospital... Its such a joke and absolutely waste of IPSS Medical Rescue 's time and energy. Lets hope that he does not need urgent medical care again😡

this is disgusting and all parties concerned should be ashamed. IPSS is always present in this community continously striving to serve the ballito and surrounding. I have had many dealings with IPSS with friends and family member's and they are nothing by empathetic and professional. Thank you IPSS for all that you do IPSS Medical Rescue

Have only had good dedicated professional service from IPSS. Allow both parties to air their views so the public can make their own conclusions .

Paul and his team are devoted to the community and PEOPLE! They are always there to help no matter the risks! I don’t think people take into consideration the actions of their complaints. Whether you are from Mars/Venus or ex Springbok. Do not abuse the process because of status! At the end of the day, a life is a life that needs saving. Shame on all for hammering on his “status”. Do not let this incident get you down! You guys do a tremendous job and save lives, thank you!

What incredible comments showing what IPSS stands for and means to the community of Ballito and surrounding areas. Agree every interaction with IPSS whether medical or security has been great.

The North Coast Courier what’s the agenda here? When did you sway from being a community newspaper ? IPSS Medical Rescue has assisted and served me and my family and the community with care and professionalism. This is very disappointing on your behalf.

That the NCC would author and publish an article like this is unsurprising. The downhill slide continues for what was once a decent paper.

I have yet to find another company anywhere in South Africa that cares for a community like IPSS does. Their passion, dedication and professionalism is phenomenal. It is very evident that journalism is all about sensationalism and negativity because that is usually what creates hype and scandal but in a community as tight knit as ours, one would think that our "community newspaper" would have realized a long time ago that their following would be alot stronger if they published factual positive articles about the awesome things and people that are in our community rather than trying to slate them.

Keeping us on the go… fuel or no fuel

A word of appreciation to our friends at SMG BMW Ballito who kept our COVID-19 unit on the go, during recent civil unrest.

Whilst many held positions at town entries and exits, our COVID-19 Unit upheld its obligation to service house calls and site visits, ensuring continued care to our patients. Whilst we were fortunate to secure fuel supply (thanks Shiptech) for our fleet of emergency vehicles, having access to this electric drive vehicle was a blessing to say the least.

Thank you to the BMW team for their ongoing support of the unit. Working together to keep KwaDukuza safe.

If the driver was armed, and had he shot, he would be arrested. This is the new South Africa.

Looks as if more guns have fallen into the wrong hands.
